The software you need to manage these licenses is called the Foundry FLEXlm Tools (FFT) which can be freely downloaded from our web site. This software manages those licenses on the server, giving licenses out to client Floating licenses on a server require additional software to be installed. The floating license should be put on the server and is locked to a unique number on that server (See “lmhostid” on page 17.). For that you should read the FLEXnet Licensing End User Guide that is included in the Foundry FLEXlm Tools download. It is not meant to be an exhaustive exploration of FLEXnet/FLEXlm. This licensing guide is written to get your Foundry products licensed quickly and answer common licensing questions. The release notes for any Foundry product will tell you which license encryption software has been used. This user guide (Foundry FLEXlm Tools) is designed to help you license and manage those products. More recent products use FLEXlm as the encryption software.
